SYSALIGN

DMES

Software Defined Memory(DMES)

It is a software that supports memory expansion that dynamically connects to RDMA networks according to the system's memory usage needs to enable the use of idle resource memory on other nodes. The Dynamic Memory Extension System (DMES) creates memory pools for virtual machines over the network with memory scattered across each node and configures them to be available on each node as needed. This solution can expand the memory capacity of virtual machines in an efficient way by using the idle resource memory scattered on the existing nodes.

Integration of memory resources over the network

It shares scale partition-based hardware resources to create memory optimizer pools and allocate big data on memory. Users will have the same effect as using one large-capacity server and will be ensured the flexibility to scale up/down the server size as needed.

Performance beyond the limits of virtualization

  • Virtualized memory expansion performance closest to bare metal
  • Loaded with optimization resource management algorithm according to application

Flexibility for heterogeneous specifications between nodes

  • Configure a memory pool between nodes of different specs
  • Possible even if the installation time of each node is different
  • Available regardless of manufacturer based on standard x86

Quick and easy deployment management, operability

  • Consists of software only
  • Free server scale up/down on nodes is possible
  • Virtualization servers can be distributed within minutes
  • Works on standard Linux-based host OS
  • Guest OS supports Linux and MS-windows

intel OPTANE™DC PERSISTENT MEMORY

DMES supports Intel's Optane persistent memory. It provides more memory capacity to existing installed nodes without additional devices and enables software-defined servers to be operated.
